You can make a donation to Shine three ways:

2.    Call our office to make a donation by credit card or e-transfer over the phone at 519-642-0990

How it works: 
To start a monthly gift, select the "Make this a recurring gift" button on our online donation form.

Shine processes monthly gifts from your credit card or bank account on the 15th of each month. You will be provided one consolidated tax receipt for the previous year's donations the following February. You can change, pause, or cancel your monthly gift by contacting us at least five business days before your next donation. 

Similar to making a monthly gift off your credit card or from your bank account, you can set up an automatic payroll deduction to donate to Shine directly from your paycheque. Donations appear on your T4, eliminating the need to keep track of tax receipts throughout the year. Speak with your company’s Finance team to request a payroll deduction directed to Shine.

Celebrate your loved ones with a gift to Shine in their honour or memory. Gifts can be made in honour of birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, retirements, etc. Or make a gift in memory of a loved one who has passed away. If you choose, your loved ones or their next of kin can be notified of your tribute gift. Our donation form allows you to request this.

Legacy giving ensures that many young people will live their dreams for years into the future, allowing you to make a lasting impact in your community while optimizing tax and other financial benefits. Professional advice from your lawyer, accountant, or financial advisor will help determine the best option for you.

Donor-advised funds are increasing in popularity among donors. If you have a donor-advised fund at a sponsoring organization, such as your local community foundation or financial institution, consider contributing to Shine directly from your fund. Speak with your fund representative for next steps. Please note that your sponsoring organization may not share your information with us when you make your gift. Contact us to let us know you’ve made a gift from your DAF so we can thank you personally and ensure you receive appropriate recognition.

Donating securities is one of the most tax-efficient ways to make a charitable donation. Reduce the capital gains tax, get a larger tax receipt at full market value, and easily make a bigger impact by donating securities (stocks, bonds, GICs) directly to Shine. Learn more here. Please contact your financial advisor to ensure this is the right option for you and work with them to complete and submit our Gift of Securities Form. 

There are two ways to donate your cryptocurrency to Shine:
1.    Shine is not yet equipped to receive donations of cryptocurrency directly, but you can first convert your cryptocurrency into Canadian dollars, which can then be donated to Shine as a one-time cash gift.
2.    Alternatively, you may consider donating your cryptocurrency to Shine through CanadaHelps.

Shine is pleased to partner with Car Heaven, the only national charitable vehicle recycling program using authorized Automotive Recyclers of Canada members who follow a strict code of practice. Review their website, complete their online form, and choose Shine as your charitable recipient to make your donation. You will receive a charitable tax receipt for your gift.         

Shine is also pleased to partner with Donate a Car Canada to accept your vehicle donation. You will be provided free towing, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation. When you donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle in support of Shine through Donate A Car Canada, it will either be recycled or re-sold (depending on its condition, age, and location). Donate A Car Canada will look after all the details to make it easy for Shine to benefit. You will receive a tax receipt after your car donation has been processed!
