Marc Alexander’s generosity,drive and enthusiasm are legendary among Shine stakeholders. A staff sergeant with the RCMP, ‘E’ Division HQnTraffic Services, Marc began donating funds to the Shine Foundation in 1995. To date, his leadership efforts have helped raise more than $514,000 through the BC Lower Mainland RCMP Charity Golf Tournament, held annually in Maple Ridge, BC to benefit Shine.
Marc’s efforts have resulted in many Shine recipients being able to temporarily put aside their medical challenges and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience or, more recently, a one-day whirlwind trip to Disneyland.
Marc’s initiative and drive, his dedication to Shine recipients and the generous contributions he has made to help Shine in our mission makes him a deserving recipient of the 2009 Wayne C. Dunn Spirit of Service Award.
